Since May of this year, Chess for a Cause team has started conducting chess sessions at the beautiful Milton Library (855 Mayfield Rd, Milton, GA 30009). Being summer-time we are getting lot of interest from adults and kids alike. We are grateful to Milton Library for providing the facility and helping us with promoting Chess in the senior community.
We had a great turnout today. Pictures will be posted soon.
We meet every other Sunday, our next session will be on the June 23rd from 2 to 3 PM. See you all there.
We had an interesting session at Annandale Village yesterday. It was impressive to see the interest, participation and the progress made over the past 2 years by some of the players. Way to go, Annandale players!!
February was a busy month with very exciting chess sessions at Annandale Village, Bethesda Senior Center and Delmar gardens. The residents are now comfortable with the game and really look forward to these sessions, which greatly motivates the chess for a cause team. Rev Leonard is moving out of Atlanta and it was hard to say good bye to him.
The Chess for a Cause team was very fortunate to get engaged with 91 year old chess expert, Rev. Dick Leonard, who started teaching chess at Delmar Gardens, Lawrenceville, GA. The team will now work with Rev. Leonard every Sunday afternoon in engaging the residents in the mind expanding game.
We are thrilled and honored that Chess for a cause for featured on the cover page of the Gwinnett Daily Post on Dec 5th, 2018. Thanks to the correspondent Jay Jones, who approached us after learning about our presentation at Johns Creek Chamber of Commerce. Below is a link to the article:
